Why I Started my Personal/Virtual Assistant Business
I’ve been director of several businesses over the years and on many occasions I’ve wished I had a little bit of extra help along the way; an extra pair of hands every now and then but without having to employ someone. I’ve co-owned a 200 acre fruit farm, several shops including an organic farm shop, a b&b and a holiday let and in each business I was frustrated that I couldn’t get ad-hoc assistance as and when I needed it, that wouldn’t cost the earth or entail masses of red tape.
For instance, I needed a website and consulted a few web designers who charged the earth, offered the World and didn’t follow through, leaving me confused and out of pocket. I really struggled to find someone reliable who I could trust to help with my business or could build me a website that I could up-date myself (or have them actually post updates when I asked them to!)

From Concert Lighting in the 80’s to Holiday Letting in Cornwall
I have worked in a myriad of businesses working my way up from office junior back in the 80’s (ahem…yes, I’m THAT old!) to becoming PA to the Managing Director of a very successful International Concert Lighting Company providing lighting for artists such as Tina Turner and Rod Stewart.
From the early 90’s I co-managed my family fruit farm business with organic farm shop for 13 years in beautiful Stratford-Upon-Avon, Shakespeare country. In 2006 I moved to Cornwall in the South of England to run a craft shop and holiday let, giving me valuable insight into the needs (and frustrations) of the small business owner.
